This past weened was really busy. We went to a memorial service for a friend's mother, out to lunch, held a Passover Seder all on top of our regular activities. My back gave out during the Seder so I've been trying to rest. But it has been good as it gave me the chance to begin going over couple video series from Jeff Meyers Passing the Baton, and Secrets of Everyday Leaders. I think these are just in time as I've been thinking about changes that are needed at church and I think my back ache has been a blessing in slowing me down and giving me a chance to go through the materials. Now the bad part is taking action...

Last Wednesday I had some kids over to start the process of making sugar eggs. It has been a while since I've made them and I could not find the instructions that I had from the class that I took. We managed to look up the instructions online. Except for some breakages when scooping out the sugar (I should have checked how solid the kids packed the eggs) it went well. Today they assembled the eggs. I was glad that only one shell broke and that was before beginning to decorate. I think the kids had a good time. I was glad that the boys behaved all the time and I was able to get two piano lessons in too.

Can't believe it's already April. Christianna had her rehearsal for orchestra. This will be her last concert with the junior string orchestra and she'll need to do an audition in May for next year. But just when we thought that we won't be dropping anyone off on Wednesday for practice, Nathaniel may be taking her place. We laugh that poor Ms V. will have to put up with him. I'm hoping that he won't loose it when he runs into a problematic passage.
Mark stayed home with Christopher and Glorianna and Nathaniel went hiking with a friend who is celebrating her birthday tomorrow (unfortunately her grandmother has been in the hospital so her parents had been a bit busy lately). The kids just hung out at our place in the afternoon and raided the ice cream.
Ops, I almost posted this under cooking I'll just blame it on my headache
I just helped Nathaniel with his violin practice. He is doing well when he keeps himself under control and stays with the task. He certainly does much better when I can be with him while practicing. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to happen very often.

We are once again having a Passover Seder at church. I'm trying to see if I can put some Chinese in our current Haggadah and to my dismay, I didn't keep track of the previous Seder menu so here I go again trying to scrounge up everything, although I think I should have all the recipes. Thinking of recipes I need to check if I've got the Hamantachen recipe on the blog. I love the filing and next time I just need to remember not to roll the dough out too thin then the cookies would be perfect

I took the girls to a farm today to do some community service by clearing a field. The girls did well but began to slow down towards the end. So they ended up having some wheel barrel races to bring the leaves to the leaf pile.
Now my allergies in full bloom ....
